Obituary For Christopher Shay

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Shay, 57, on February 22nd, 2025, at home.

Chris was born in Oshawa, Ontario, to Robert Shay and the late Yvonne Shay (Hicks).

Many would know Chris for his work with EHS, where he spent over 15 years. After falling ill, he spent most of the last few years playing video games with friends from around the world or spending quality time with his family at home.

Chris was known for being quiet but very caring and selfless. He would do anything for anyone at any time. Even during his illness, he was always more concerned about others than himself.

Chris was also well-known for his delicious chocolate chip cookies, which never lasted long at family gatherings. His knowledge of cars and technology was also something he was widely recognized for.

He will be greatly missed by many, especially his daughter, Brianne. He is survived by his daughter, Brianne Muise (Nicholas); his father, Robert (Gail) Shay; Neices, Shannon (Chris) Roy; Chelsea Blaikie; Nephew, Mitchell Blaikie; two great nephews and many cousins and other extended family members.

Chris was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Cindy Shay; his brother, Jason; and his sister.

Donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
