Passed peacefully Tuesday, 30 March 2021. Born 15 October 1942, eldest son of Gerald F. & Phyllis D. (Bishop) Casey, Jack grew up on Connaught Ave. Overlooking the original Halifax airfield, as a youth he would cross the remnants of the old air base on route to St. Agnes School , which started his life-long interest in military history. As a teen, attending St Patrick’s High School, Jack was a member of Air Cadets. Being a ‘people person’ he couriered medical needs for the pharmacies in metro to the house bound individuals that needed this vital service. Never a kinder soul, above all else, Jack enjoyed meeting and making new acquaintances, including the Sunday flea markets, with his partner for life, wife CarolynAnne - a matched set if there ever was one. For the past two years Jack resided in Northwood Manor, where he enjoyed socializing under the watchful eye of the staff who cared for him so well and whose efforts are greatly appreciated. Loved by his many nieces and nephews, cousins, Jack is survived by wife CarolynAnne (MacBean), brother Gerry Casey (Cathy) and sister Julie Walker (John). He is now in his final resting place. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)

So very sorry to learn of Jack's passing. As children I remember gathering at the Doherty home to watch the only television in the family on Sunday afternoons to watch " And You Were There" with all the cousins. Jack, as all have said, always had a warm and generous spirit and was very willing to run errands for his Mum and his aunts. My husband Tom and I always connected with him at the Flea Market when buying summer plants and Jack and Carolyn were most often there . Jack always had a story to tell and a smile on his face and was delighted to see all those that he knew and there were so many. Our sincere condolences to the love of his life Carolyn, and his brother Gerry and sister Julie. God Bless him. Barbara (Morrow) Merriam

Carolyn, and cousins Julie and Gerald, Pieter and I are so very sorry to learn of Jackie's passing. Jackie was always such a kind, sweet soul. One of my favourite memories of Jackie was when he would drop in for a visit at our home, and together we cousins would sit in front of the TV, with Jackie sharing his large bag of "Scottie's" potato chips. As a young child that made a huge impression on me - just one simple gesture of his generous spirit - always considerate of and giving to other people. Will never forget you, Jackie. God Bless.

I was sorry to hear this afternoon that Jackie passed away. I hadn't seen him for many years but I remember his enthusiasm when I did see him and he always made it an interesting conversation. I'm sure he left that kind of memory with many people

Jackie Casey's mere presence was always guaranteed to brighten up any room. Jack was fun loving. He was kind, sensitive, thoughtful, generous, and genuine. Even as a child, and later as a Boy Scout, Jack had a shining sense of responsibility. He was extremely good-natured and often animated and entertaining. I am glad that Jack passed peacefully, and undoubtedly content, completely convinced that he would be welcomed warmly into his new home by his loving family and friends who preceded him. My Sincere Condolences to CarolynAnne, Julie, Gerald, and all of Jack's Family. from Cousin Michael Doherty.
