Obituary For Betty Anne Shore
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved, Betty, who left this world surrounded by family in the QEII Health Sciences Centre on December 13, 2022, at 80 years of age.
Born in Beaver Bank, she was the daughter of the late David Welsford Davis and Anne Ellen Davis. Betty devoted her life as a pillar of the family along side her loving husband, Murray, raising their daughters and later becoming a nurturing and supporting grandmother.
In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was a regular at the bingo halls. Betty loved listening to country music and dancing, with her number one dance partner, Murray. She also loved camping and travelled to different parts of the province whenever there was a jamboree in town. There were also many shopping trips back and forth to New Hampshire when shopping was on “par”.
In her later years, she enjoyed baking up a storm. She was most proud of her banana bread, cherry loaves, and apple pies. She would always have many in her freezer for company to enjoy. She loved attending musicals and plays at Neptune Theatre and concerts at the Rebecca Cohn. Her favourite TV shows were Dancing with the Stars and Bold and the Beautiful.
Betty loved making special memories with her family and close friends celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and her most favourite time of the year, Christmas. Her loyal and unconditional fur-baby, Jackson, added so much joy to her world.
Predeceased by sister Sylvia Davis, brother Wayne Davis and brother Frank (Judy) Davis.
She is survived by; her adoring husband of 60 years Murray Shore, daughters Pamela Baur (Kevin Lively) and Sherri (Steven) Dodge, two grandchildren Jessica and Jacob Baur. She is also survived by; sister, Lynn (Ken) Hill, sister Dorothy (late Graham) Sullivan, brother Mitchell (Helen) Davis and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Church of the Good Shepherd - 28 Trinity Lane in Beaver Bank, NS - at 11:00 AM followed by a reception downstairs in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory can be made to Hope For Wildlife.
Please note that masking and social distancing are still in effect at the church
