Dear Doreen and family, I was so sorry to hear of Brian's passing. On my early career I looked to him as a mentor. He was always generous with his time and talent. I was especially grateful for his help when I was doing some research a few years ago. He was great broadcaster, role model and friend.

Doreen, Erin and Brendan, our thoughts are with you. We have been thinking about our many family gatherings over the years, Brian's love of music and his gift for telling stories. When I think of Cape Breton and home it brings memories of Mira, Ceilidhs and 100's of old fashioned slide deck pictures of our families together. Thank you Brian for your part in creating those wonderful memories. We love you all♥️

Dear Doreen, Erin and Brendon. My sympathies on your loss. It has been many years now since Brian and I worked together on Weekend Mornings. I still remember his last show. After it was over, we were parting and saying our goodbyes. We hugged and I kissed him on the cheek. He was surprised and I explained that it is something that Hungarians do when they care about someone. I regret that we never kept in touch after retirement. May your memories ease your pain.

Good bye old friend. We shared a lifetime of many pleasant moments and events that lasted for over 80 years. We started school together in 1939 and even played hooky on the second day. During the years we grew up on Agricola Street in the wonderful north end of Halifax, there were three close friends BRIAN, Myself and Ron Townsend and neighbours and relatives referred to us as the '''Three Musquoteers.''' Brian and I went on to attend together Bloomfield School and eventually the old QUEEN ELIZABETH HIGH SCHOOL. Eighty plus years is an eternity and Brian and I shared many pleasant times and events and did manage to keep in contact wiyh one another. I also had Brian as a Godfather to my eldest son. Glen. I shall truly miss him and to his wife and family, Barbara and I want, to offer our sincerest condolences. " May he rest in peace and his memory be a blessing" Gerald(Gerry) and Barbara Meade

My condolences to Brian's family. I remember Brian well from the days he hosted the CBC weekend morning program. He interviewed me many times while I was Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Kings Landing Historical Settlement. We discussed everything from reading tea leaves to quilt making-whatever was happening at Kings Landing at the time. We had conversations rather than interviews, and I always appreciated the opportunity to get the Kings Landing message out to the large and loyal CBC audience. Thank you Brian.

Brian loved life, his family, music and Cape Breton. He often entertained family and friends with a good story, a song or two while playing his guitar often accompanied by his wife Doreen on the piano and sometimes other instruments would follow and the gathering would begin. There are many memories of our family get togethers with Brian and we will miss his presence but he will always be in our hearts. Mac & Linda
