Obituary For Carman Stanley Hayden

Hayden, Carman Stanley, aged 86,of Whites Lake, NS passed away on April 14th, 2018. He was born in Halifax and was the son of the late Carman Leveritt Hayden and Ethel Maude Hayden (Shepherd). Stan loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and all things outdoors. He was an avid Scouter, involved in the movement for over 40 years. He also loved a good project. Betty never knew what she might come home to find him up to. In recent years, he especially enjoyed playing darts with his seniors group. Anyone who knew Stan, also knew him to be a prankster with a playful spirit. There are those who no doubt have a story to tell about one of Stan's many hijinks. Above all Stan Hayden was a good, good man.

Stan is survived by his loving wife and partner, Betty (née MacInnis), son Donald, daughter Vicki,sister Isobel Meehan, and brothers Eric (Joan) and Wade. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and cousins. He is predeceased by son Andrew, and brothers David and James, sisters in law Glenda and May, andbrother in law, Ray, as well as a niece and four nephews.

Stan was cremated at Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors. There will be a visitation on Friday, April 27th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at St. Timothy's Anglican Church in Hatchet Lake. Services will be held at the same location on Saturday, April 28th at 1:00 with reception to follow.

Condolences can be posted to www.donaldkwalker.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would greatly appreciated and if anyone is looking to be involved in the community, Stan would encourage you to try Scouting.

    Dear Betty and family. I will dearly miss Stan at our scouting events. He was always a joy to be around and never a negative word, always a happy soul. I won't be able to be at Stan's service but will be with all of you in thought. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you travel this difficult road.     Betty, so sorry to read about Stan. Brought back memories of our times spent at your "camp" with all of the kids. The time does come in our lives when we lose those we love most but we have to be thankful for all of the great years spent together. Give Vicki & Donald a hug from me and our girls.     Betty & Family: We knew both Stan & Betty best through Scouting. Both always doing their share of the work to be done. Extra efforts included their time together @ various Scout Training Camp Weekends when they shared "chief cook & bottle washers", many a fine meal, on many occasions. This Scouting experience continued in the 12th Fellowship of Baden-Powell Guild, where this great, friendly group meet & socialize many times throughout the year. Always a smile & kind words & gestures, a great couple. May he find joy in the afterlife. A life well-lived.....Betty & Dave Cameron

    Betty and Family: Anne and I send our sincere condolences on Stan’s passing. He was indeed a dedicated scouter. We met many times at Camp Nedooae especially in the dining hall. We also remember occasional meetings at Zellers in Bayers Lake. Harley Grimmer
