Obituary For Carolyn Mary Scott "Murphy"

Scott, Carolyn Mary (Murphy) Born in Halifax on July 1, 1949

It is with heavy hearts ,we share this with you .

Carolyn had fought a good fight for the past two years sadly with her son Bernie, her close friends, Susan, and Hanna by her side ,Carolyn was peacefully called to Heaven by her savior the evening of January 24th in the Dartmouth General Hospital

Carolyn was reunited with her mother Agnes Gerrard, and father Joseph Murphy, brother David Murphy, and the love of her life husband Tom Scott. Carolyn will be forever loved and missed her son Bernard Dowd, Sister Theresa Cooper (Gerrard), and brothers Keith Murphy, and James Gerrard. Also her beautiful grand children Sarah Demerais, Andrew Smith, and Tori Dowd. She also has three great grandchildren Daine Burnouf (10) Hollie Burnouf (3) and Emmett Hynes (3)

Carolyn loved to be around children often caring for them as they were her own she would of loved nothing more to of had a house full. Her kindness and generosity always shone bright to anyone who walked through her door, she was quick to make you feel welcome as she sat you down at her kitchen table for a cup of coffee or a meal.

Her love and kindness for animals will be missed especially by her furbabies Goober, Ben and Tony .

Carolyn could often be spotted on one her walks through Eastern Passage or her favorite hangout Tim Hortons catching up with friends and people watching.

It was tough getting her to slow down and relax but she enjoyed a good road trip and often fell asleep making for great company.

Carolyn lived her entire life in Eastern Passage , if you were lucky enough to have met her ,you knew you would have a friend for life. Her sense of humor and a smile that could light up the darkest room. Her quick wit and gentle heart and the great love she had for her Son ,her family ,friends and God, truly made her a one of kind .

The world truly has lost one of its greatest gems.

Please remember with a smile one of her favorite lines "Watch for cars"

Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a celebration of Carolyn's life in the Spring please keep an eye on facebook and the Beacon for more details and please bring your memories to share .
