Obituary For Donald James White

83 of Halifax. Beloved husband of Marion (Strong)White passed away April 9, 2019. He was the beloved son of the late Graham & Helen White of Halifax. He worked in the grocery business for 46 years, starting at Dominion at the age of 22. He worked most of his life at IGA as the Meat Manager and finished his career with Atl. Superstore, retiring at age 65. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, sons Donald Jr. (Denise) and Daniel, daughter Debra McManus, grandchidren Jennifer (Jamie), John (Jay), Sean, DJ and Adam, 3 great-grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to 156 Parkstone for the great care he received. Memorial service at Sackville United Baptist Church on Old Sackville Road on April 16 at 1:00 PM with reception toh follow. Burial at Gates of Heaven, Lr Sackville. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors Ltd. Online condolences at www.donaldkwalker.ca

    I came to know Don and Marion after he retired. Don was a very kind man and had a wealth of knowledge. He was very in love with Marion and they made a wonderful couple. Don educated me on how to corn beef and pork at home. Hope you are well Marion. Take care of yourself. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    To the family of Donald White, I was so sad to read in the paper of Mr. White's passing. I worked with him 1968-1972 at Lakefront IGA on Portland St. in Dartmouth. He was a wonderful person. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. Sincerely, Celine Munroe (nee Boudreau)
