Obituary For Elizabeth Boutilier
Boutilier, Elizabeth Marilyn of Lake Echo passed away peacefully, with family by her side, in QEII on December 20, 2021. Daughter of the late Kenneth and Margaret (Young) Kenney and wife of the late George Boutilier. A sister to Eileen (Jim) Arthur, Sylvia (Len) Rudolph, Gladys (Leslie) Cook, Pearl (Reg) Weagle , Audrey (Walter) White, Shirley (George) Maynard and brother Kenneth Kenney. Elizabeth is survived by her son John (Clementia) Boutilier, Deborah (Scott) Boyle, Jimmy (Jade Robin) Boutilier, grandchildren Matthew (Maureen) Boyle, Kristen (Ross) Simmonds and great grandchildren Aaliyah, Isaac, Isabelle and Connor.
Elizabeth was a wife and mother who spent 66 years managing the affairs of home life. Mum was feisty, charted her own course, tenacious and focused but above all she was strong. She was a breast cancer survivor and battled a multitude of serious health issues for years. She managed Dad with his Alzheimer’s at home until his last 4 months despite her own health limitations. Mum loved everything domestic and one of her greatest passions was cooking/baking and she spent a lifetime honing her culinary skills to perfection much to the delight of all who savored such. Her second passion was spending as much time as possible out in the garden. She enjoyed hours upon hours painstakingly laying out, planting and tending to the gardens she so loved. She spent 50 years transforming a barren property into a beautiful work of art that she tirelessly dedicated her skill to.
A very special THANK-YOU, with more gratitude than you will ever know, to all the care givers, past and present, especially Venus and Marie who provided loving, compassionate care and friendship though her later years. Also, to Diane and Janet for a lifetime of friendship and love. Special thanks Janet for your endless care and compassion and watching over Mum daily.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be planned in the New Year.
