Obituary For Eric Michael Hartrick

Age 58 of Meaghers Grant, passed away surrounded by our families on Sat. Aug. 10, 2019 at the VG Hospital in Halifax, where his battle with blood cancer came to an end. We are glad that Heaven got another Angel but sad it was Eric's time to go.

Eric is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Donna Slaunwhite, stepdaughter Cindy Judge (Mike Parratt) Eastern Passage, step grandsons Jarrett and Paul Garnett, Beaverbank, sisters, Amy (Darrell) Holmes, Cherie (Dave) Stredder, Lake Echo, Maryanne (Dake) MacDougall, Florida, brother, Kurk (Sue) Hartrick, Mill Village. Nieces: Melissa, Emily, Rachel, nephews, Douglas, John, Christopher, Kyle, Colin and Terrance.

Eric was predeceased by, his parents, Alfred and Pauline Hartrick of Lake Echo, sisters Cristle and Margaret Hartrick. Eric loved his wife, his family, his home in Meaghers Grant, his job at Greenwood Lane Inc. where he was the Building Operations Manager for Keith's Brewery Market in Halifax, his camp in Port Joli,, working with wood, writing poetry and cheeseburgers. He had a rare sense of humor which some got and some didn't. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Donaldk K. Walker Funeral Directors and there will be a Celebration of Eric's Life on Monday August 19, 2019 at the Lake Echo Community Center 3168 Number 7 Hwy Lake Echo (Senior's Room) from 2PM to 4PM.

    I am so sorry to hear of Eric's passing. I felt very proud to work with him at the Keith's Brewery. We always could depend on Eric; he was very skilled at his job and had a lovely, dry sense of humour! Every time he spoke about his wife, his home and the land he lived on, you could tell what brought him the greatest joy in life. I was glad to have met him. He will be greatly missed by us all here at Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery.
