Obituary For Flora Bernice Briand (Pollock)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Flora Bernice Briand (Pollock), age 89, of Halifax Nova Scotia, on April 12, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born in November 1935, in Halifax, Flora was known for many things; her generosity, her sharp wit, her infectious laughter, her cooking & baking, the dedication and hard work she put into her gardens, her pickling, she loved to play cards & bingo, she loved to welcome company as her door was always open, and last but certainly not least, her love for her family and community.

Flora was pre-deceased by her mother Vera, her oldest son Bruce, and her siblings Joan and Bob. She will be lovingly remembered by her children John and Peter; her five grandchildren Erika, Jessie, Hilary, Amber, and Austin; and many dear friends and extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9th at 11 a.m. at the St. Timothy's Anglican Church at 2320 Prospect Rd, Hatchet Lake, followed by a reception.

    My sister Colleen and I helped Flora decorate her Christmas tree last year. She had so many beautiful vintage ornaments. She was very particular and would ask for them to moved an inch on the tree until it was to her liking. It made me laugh at her perfection. Wonderful lady. She will be missed at family gatherings.
