We are sad to announce the passing of Eddie Cudmore on March 4, 2021. He was the son of the late Garth and Ellen (Keith) Cudmore.
Eddie attended Dartmouth High School. He played football through High School and earned Linesman of the year. He retired as a Trades assistant at Shearwater. He earlier worked at the Wyse Owl and enjoyed his time and his many friends while he was there. He loved all things sports throughout his life, especially football and hockey. Eddie played pool with a group of friends on Monday afternoon, which he always wanted to win. The trophy was worth it. His collection of various sets of model cars, trucks and Coca cola memorabilia eventually outgrew the house. Mostly Eddie loved to rough house and bring joy to his friends and family.
His partner, Juliet, enjoyed his love of sports, and they watched sports together.
He will be very missed by his partner, Juliet Pellerine and sons Anthony and (Tyler deceased) and the Pellerine family, his sister, Jane (Morris) Monk, niece Katy (Ryan) Saunders and children, his daughter Valerie (Gary) MacDonnell and grandchildren Mallory and Jesse and the Forrest family.
Eddie is predeceased by his wife, Donna (Forrest) Cudmore.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Donald K. Walker. There will be a private family service. We will be looking forward to a time (hopefully this summer) to have a celebration of life with friends and family and welcome all condolences for Eddie’s family by visiting his page at www.donaldkwalker.ca

Eddie was family to us. As Scotty would say it. His Godfather, Uncle Eddie was the chosen one. We could not have asked for a better friend and Godfather to our sons and we treasure the love and many years of fun, good times, sad times we shared together. Our hearts are full of wonderful memories. Jimmy and Eddie go way back. From working in the taverns together, going to hockey games, playing football, softball, ground hockey, and a few funny hunting trips I have been told. But it wasn't to hunt. Lol. We are sure going to miss you Uncle Eddie. Jimmy and I send our condolences to Eddie's better half Juliet and family. Your love for Eddie was so appreciated. To Eddie's sister Jane and family and to Valerie and family. Until we meet again our dear friend, you will never be forgotten and your memory will be stay in our hearts forever. Love Jimmy, Charmane, Scott and Ryan Kay

He was always so happy and brought us such joy. He taught us how to shell a whole lobster in less than a minute! He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to spend time with him. RIP Uncle Eddie. Love Always, Igor and Kathy

I too lived on Glenwood Ave 4 houses from Eddie. I was his age and I too recall a birthday party at his home at about age 6. Eddie and I were at Penhorn lake swimming one day when some bigger boys came by and told us to leave. Eddie got held under for what seemed minutes for refusing. This could explain some of his toughness. He was a great kid and sounds like he grew up to be a wonderful man. God Bless Eddie and those he left behind

I hope this is Eddie Cudmore I knew as a kid but it's a good story even if it isn't. I was one of three brothers and two sisters who lived close to Bayern Road on Oxford Street before moving to Dartmouth around the building of the first bridge. We attended a birthday party for Eddie when we were about six and Eddie's mom said: "there is a dine in the birthday cake - whoever gets it has to give it to Eddie 'cause it's his birthday". Little Johnny got it and Mrs.Cudmore had to pry it out of Johnny's grubby little hands. Little did we know that Eddie moved to Dartmouth and maybe Glenmore Ave. while we lived on Celtic Dr, and played football at Prince Andrew while he played at DHS! Small world! Condolences to the family

I was very saddened to read of Eddie's passing . I knew Eddie from late 00's to mid 70's . I played tackle football with Eddie in front of Bi-Hi and Eddie would go home with every piece of clothing torn to shreds . we played snooker and played cards together .What I remember most about Eddie is he never did or played anything halfway. My condolences to Eddie's family and friends .

I fondly remember 'Eddie' from our days living on Glenwood Ave in Dartmouth. I am a little older than Eddie but we saw each other daily in the 50's and early 60's. Our parents threw us out of the house every day and told us to go play and we did. My condolences to his survivors

I played football with Eddie at Dartmouth High. He was not only a very good player, tough as nails, he was also fun to be around. I can remember him trying to get into the opponent's huddle a few times. He was a true character. I have not lived in Dartmouth in almost 50 years but I would sometimes see him at a Mooseheads game and it was always a pleasure to talk to him. He always had a smile and a laugh. I am sorry he is no longer with us. I send my condolences to his family and many friends. Rest in peace, Eddie.

Along with Moose Mills and Ivor Axford, I was one of Ed's football coaches at Dartmouth High in the mid-1960's. It was a pleasure to coach him, and watch him play; he definitely was a powerhouse linebacker on defence, and well deserved his 'lineman of the year' award. My sincere condolences to his family. - Jon Main
