Obituary For Lawrence Spencer Merlin Prest

Prest, Lawrence Spencer Merlin

Age 62, of Hatchet Lake, passed away suddenly at home from an undiagnosed heart condition, on April 10th, 2021. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Colin & Una (Myers) Prest. Lawrence spent his early years in the Canadian Navy and Coast Guard. In his retirement he enjoyed tending his plants, old reruns, a good smoke, coffee and the company of his friends. He especially enjoyed his time spent chatting with his American friend Buster who he visited in California. He is survived by his sons Alex & Mason; granddaughter Adelyn; sister Angelia (Denis); nieces & nephews Chelsea (Kyle) Bitar, Sean DeCarufel (Kayla), Nicole (Mike) Hampson, Amira Bitar, Ari & Boden Hampson. The family would like to thank the wonderful care provided by Dr. Harris Crooks and the staff of the Medical Center. A private ceremony will take place at a later date in Oyster Pond. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to SPCA or Bide a While.

    Sorry for your family's loss. I enjoyed his company & conversation. Lawrence had a hundred stories, well maybe only 50, but he told them twice. RIP Lawrence.

    Dear Mrs Prest. I was shocked to hear of Lawrence's passing so suddenly. I remember when we were younger, how he loved the beach boys and gave me one of his beloved albums. I can't imagine how your heart must be breaking. I am so very sorry for your loss.
