It was indeed an honor and great privilege to have known Lucy and indeed the whole family. They brought so much joy and pleasure into the community. What a true gift it was reconnecting with Lucy later in life. A kinder soul has never lived on this earth .My condolences to her family and close friends.

When I was young, just out of high school my soon to be hubby used to mention the 'Walker Sisters' from out the road; Lucy and Danna. I finally got to meet your Mom while with my hubby at Sobeys of all places, she had such a beautiful wide smile, he recognized her right away and they had a happy conversation reminiscing their youth. Lucy gave us both wonderful hugs and soon was on her way... only then did he tell me -that was the 'Walker Sister' I hadn't met as I previously had met Danna. I met Lucy a few times after that time, and she always recognized me... such a sincere beautiful woman. We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful and loving mom, Lucy. She was a very special woman who exuded fun and love wherever she was. She was a devoted wife to Scott, a fierce mother to John Michael, David and Sally, as well as a cherished grandmother. We enjoyed many parties of the Hadley home and at the Golden Age centre, dancing, laughing and having fun. Lucy and Scott knew how to throw a party. John Mike, David, Sally and families - I'm absolutely heartbroken to hear just now of Grandma Lucy's passing. It seems like for the past 10+ years anytime I was having fun, she was there. I loved spending time with her no matter what we were doing. There was always something going on - I remember at the campground we had to go to Frenchy's every hour, because they would put new stuff out. Drive in bingo was a ton of fun too. She truly was an angel on earth, and knew exactly how to make you feel better just by being there. Once in a while you meet incredible people you'll never forget, and I will treasure all of our adventures forever. You were truly one of a kind, and I'll never forget the stories you told. Sweet Lucy... our lady in red. I told you many times how I would not have made in through 2022 without you. Your friendship, advice and support along with Lorraine gave me strength, and the occasional alcoholic beverage . I have loved every minute of my time with you. Watching John Michael torture you, David and Scott bicker over who was your favourite, with Sally smiling, knowing it was her all along. The stories she would tell. The laughs we had. She and Lorraine had a secret language of eye rolls and sighs that only best friends or an old married couple would understand . Lucyeoke was the highlight of the summer because no one threw a party like you. Red and white is always right, you would say, pointing your dagger like scarlet nail in my direction . There's no excuse for not decorating. Yes ma'am. I miss you and will always feel blessed to have known you and the remarkable, talented and genuinely decent humans you brought into my life .
