Obituary For Mark James Flemming

Flemming, Mark James

Aged 69- It is with sadness the family of Mark "Rally" Flemming, announce
his passing on Aug ,24, 2024 at home after a battle with Liver Cancer. Mark
was taken care of in his final days by younger son Kory with much help from
the "sisters". Mark was born in Halifax and raised in Jollymore. He would
later settle in several locations in Spryfield. Mark was the son of the late
Elaine Flemming, White nee Hunter, and James "Sonny" Flemming. Mark is
survived by sons Jeff (Judy) and Kory; former wife Lynn nee Harris;
Granddaughter Jessica; sisters Paula, Rhonda, Adrienne; brother Rex; many
nieces, nephews and cousins. Special mention to the "Card Gang" Bill, Keith,
Rex, Rick; Jim "Great White" Melvin and neighbors Jim and Joy.

Mark started his working career at Sparta Body shop; then he Worked in the
Sign / Graphics Industry for over 35 years with companies United Signs, Jean
Signs-Trimline, Rainbow Dawn, Crane signs, New Century Signs. In his last
working years, he worked for M.R.S Construction doing painting and general
labour.

In his early years, his passions were working on cars or camping in Margaree
forks or Keji and watching the Montreal Canadians on TV. Midlife included
get togethers on the weekends, golf, tennis, fishing, kayaking, sledding and
pond skating. Later in life it was walks, playing cards sitting at fires,
feeding squirrels at the Dingle and family outings.

Mark loved animals and there always seemed to be one around ranging from
dogs, cats, budgies, hamsters and even a ferret. His last buddy was a dog
named Lucky who was his sister's dog.

A special thank-you to his palliative care nurses Thea Meason and Claire
Belliveau and Dr. Jeff Dempster and Dr. Ann - Marie Krueger - Naug for their
care and compassion and V.O.N nurses who cared for him at home. Thank- you
to youngest sister Adrienne and son Kory who went to all his appointments
with him.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to Donald K. Walker Funeral
Home. As per the wishes of Mark, there will be no service or visitation. A
family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations
may be made in Mark's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, MS Society of
Canada, or a charity of your choice.

    I worked with Mark for many years in the sign industry. He was a great person and will be missed by all that knew him. My condolences to all his family members. RIP Mark.

    A kinder heart you couldn't find...the man never said no..many times he would drive me home with groceries or take me to pick up my mom's prescription..didn't think twice..he always took pleasure in helping others...he'll be sadly missed around my mom's...Elizabeth Power in the basement apartment of the same dwelling...RIP MARK...thanks for being who you are...Bob Lawrence
