Obituary For Marsha Eileen Campbell
Marsha Eileen Campbell (nee Hartlen); Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 5th, 2021 at her home in Halifax at the tender age of 71. Mom is lovingly remembered by her her daughter Dawn, son-in-law Duncan, daughter Jacqueline (Shaun), son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Dawn. “Nanny-O” will be forever cherished by grandchildren Katie, Brayden, Logan, Ethan, Noah, Madi, Josie, Parker & Grampie Colin Campbell. Marsha is survived by her brother Barrie Hartlen and sister Glenda (Wayne) Lee and numerous nieces and nephews. Marsha was predeceased by her parents and six brothers. Marsha was a loving matriarch, she took great pride supporting all of her children and grandchildren’s life pursuits and accomplishments. Our mother demonstrated that love doesn’t wait for anything in return. She gave it all her life without ever counting, judging or thinking twice about it. Her role as Mother and Grandmother was most important to her. This is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. Being with her family was what Marsha enjoyed most in this world. Her life had many obstacles, yet her love and caring for her family remained her focus, and in so many ways she was able to show that love to us. This perseverance through adversity is a powerful lesson for us, and we believe it is her legacy. What a wonderful lesson she gave us. Keep that which is most important in focus, love and care for your family. Let them know in all the ways you can that you love them. Don’t let adversities or setbacks or any of the distractions of the world keep you from this most important aspect of life. She had a quiet, soft-spoken strength that was the glue that kept us together. Nothing is as strong as gentleness and nothing is as gentle as strength. Marsha had a love for her family that was fierce and tender and for those that knew Mom, you know this is the truth. She created a loving home to grow up in and made us feel special and loved everyday. Mom’s care giving also extended into her career at Precision Health, Staples Business Center CIBC. She received numerous awards over the course of her careers as being a top performing manager, she was respected and admired by her colleagues. Mom also had a huge heart for her fur babies and spoiled every dog she ever owned. Dexter & her cat Blue were the luckiest little furballs to have her as their “Mom”. Marsha was a very trendy lady who had a unique sense of style from a very young age. She had a real flair for fashion. Mom always liked to look her best and made a statement everywhere she went. Her piercing, mesmerizing blue eyes were the window to her beautiful soul. Besides family and fashion Mom also had a love for Thrift Stores and Market Place. This hobby of hers contributed to her passion for fashion and she had more clothes, shoes and jackets than she could ever wear. There are so many fond memories we have of our Mom that they could not all be included in this memorial, but here are a few more to enjoy. Worlds best jive dancer with a few “Elaine” moves thrown in, looked fabulous in her bikini, the best chilli maker, best interior decorator, deal finder and crib shark. She loved the ocean and spent her time beach combing and finding treasures with her special granddaughter Parker. Mom adored the talented Jimmy Sweeney and was instrumental in introducing him to the Campbell Clan annual wharf parties. We hope for anyone who reads this or knew Marsha that you think of her fondly. Picture her sea blue eyes dancing, all glammed up in one of her stylish outfits, with a grace and panache that only she could pull off. That is the way she would want to be remembered. As much as our Mom loved her friends and family, she never wanted people to come together to mourn her at a formal Funeral. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you’ll always be in our hearts. Forever and a day, love you Mom.
Special thanks to Donald K. Walker, Neil Connors and Tony Francis. Celebration of Life will be held at the Purcell’s Cove Club on Saturday, September 25th from 2pm - 6pm. In lieu of flowers as expressions of sympathy, please donate to the SPCA
