Obituary For Mary Catherine Morley "Doucette"

On October 9, 2022, embraced with loving hugs and kisses, and surrounded by soft spa music and burning candles, Mom made her journey to join her heavenly Father.

Mom was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was very important to her. Mom spent her career working for the federal government where she met lots of life long friends. After retirement Mom spent a lot of her time doing what she enjoyed most – serving the Lord. She attended daily Mass at her favourite place, St. Mary’s Basilica. She hosted twice weekly rosary and prayer groups and volunteered with the soup kitchen. Mom became a Minister of the Eucharist, bringing Communion to the sick in the hospital every week. Religious retreats with her sisters were a special time for Mom, especially at St. Anne de Beaupre.

Now Mom enjoyed some good old fashioned fun as well. She and her sisters enjoyed a close relationship. They got together every Saturday night to enjoy dancing and singing, lots of good food, laughter and shenanigans. They played pictionary and trivia and somehow Mom always knew the answers! Later in life Mom enjoyed her shopping trips and spa days.

The last eight months have been very hard and I don’t know what I would have done without my two angels, Aunt Donna and cousin Krista. Always going above and beyond to help. Love you both. Special thanks to the staff at Northwood, 7th floor. I will be forever grateful for the kindness and compassion they showed to Mom in her final days.

Cremation has taken place and the funeral Mass will be held on October 22, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Mom’s final resting place will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mary was sweet and a bit like a second Mom. She had such a calmness about her and also very good taste and style. I'm going to miss her so much and reading the paper to her. Shauna you are a "choosen sister" and I'll miss you too. The pink candle is the same shade as her beautiful curtains which I know she like so much.
