Obituary For Mary-Rose Wile (McLean)
Wile, Mary-Rose (Mclean) –Dartmouth
Age 78. It is with broken hearts that we wish to announce her sudden passing on July 20, 2022 in Dartmouth.
Mary was born in Springhill NS to Thomas and Laura (Ridgeway) Mclean. She is survived by her son Jamie (Laurinda) and daughter Lydia Hatton (Gill) both of Dartmouth as well as grandsons Samuel, Nicholas, Brandon and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, husband Paige and her brother Edward. Mary lived with Lydia and Gill after Paige passed and had a wonderful active life together.
Mary worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at the Oral Pathology Dept. at the Dalhousie School of Dentistry for many years. Her second career path was to obtain and run a Home Healthcare franchise for ten years leading up to her retirement.
Mary had a lifelong love of learning and appreciating the beauty of life around her whether it is the blueberry fields in the fall or the dancing diamonds of light on the lake at the cottage, or her magnolia tree in bloom. Her inquisitive nature led her to the craft world. Mary loved painting in water colors with her close friends and most of all enjoyed rug hooking with her ‘Hooker’ friends. Along the way Mary and Lydia each built their own Kayaks! Mary was a loyal fan of the Toronto Blue Jays who she enjoyed watching while doing one of her crafts. Mary also loved gardening both at the house and the cottage. She was also a terrific cook and loved entertaining. Mary truly loved being in the company of her family and her dear friends. She was especially close to her grandson Sam and cherished her time with him at the cottage. He loved those “dock lunches”.
Mary was a very giving person who will be missed by special friends Linda and the table 10 group, Kaye, Joan, Colin and Dion, and her many craft buddies.
Bye for now Mom and no, we won’t forget to water the window boxes!
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate any donations made to the IWK Hospital, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
The family would like to thank the responding EHS Paramedics and HRM police department.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday July 28th at 2pm at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Veterans Avenue Dartmouth. Masking is not mandatory but preferred.
