Obituary For Maxine Ellian Robinson
ROBINSON, Maxine Ellian: It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Ellian Mary (Muise) Robinson, aged 67 years, a lifetime resident of Bear River, Digby County, Nova Scotia, at her home on Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021. She was the daughter of John Ralph and Ellian (Chute) Muise. Maxine had a close faith with God. She attended Digby Regional High School where she and her twin sister Arline were known as being quiet and shy, spending most of their time together, and even sat on the same school bus seat. Maxine's first employment was as a caregiver at a Seniors Home in Bear River, starting from when she was just 16 years old until it closed down. She spent the rest of her working years at various fish plants in Digby. She enjoyed spending her free time golfing, fishing for mackerel (and having her uncle smoke it), swimming, cooking, clam bakes on the beach (with Wendell digging the clams for them, of course), and especially enjoyed time with her pet cats and watching wild life outside her home. She was of strong character and strong will as well, expected honesty from all, and no one pulled a fast one on her. She told a story about raising a hog to be butchered when she was young, and when it was butchering time, she stood there throughout the whole process, making sure she got all the meat that she was entitled to get. Maxine married Wendell Robinson in 1981, a man who already had five daughters. The most wonderful thing that ever happened in Maxine's life was when she gave birth to her only child, (the only son of Wendell's that lived), and became a mother. All her stepdaughters were absolutely delighted to finally have a brother to hug! Maxine's life became complicated after Wendell's death in 2004, followed by the death of her twin sister Arline in 2007 which was a bit more than she could bear. Maxine loved deeply and her son was the light of her life. In the past few years she suffered a lot of pain after she fell and hurt her shoulder badly, but she always faced each day with a smile. Now she can rest easy with Wendell and Arline. Maxine is survived by her son Shawn Robinson; sister Rosalie Hazelton; nephews Ivan (Gerri) Milbury and Adam Hazelton; niece Jenny (Chas) Vantassel; brothers-in-law Gordon (Judy-deceased) Robinson, Chester (Barbara) Robinson, and Wayne (Rachel) Robinson. Also by five stepdaughters: Sherry-Anne (Robert-deceased) Comeau, Peggy Robinson (Donald Cleaves-deceased), Wendy (Dale) Orr, Cindy Robinson (Tom Bragard), Mary Robinson (Tim Adams); and by their families. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Wendell Robinson, her best friend and twin sister Arline, mother and father-in-law Dorothy and Lloyd Robinson, sister-in-law Muriel Robinson, brother-in-law Jerry Robinson. Fly high my love...until we all meet again...
We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped “Max” the past few years. We greatly appreciated everything Tina, Andy, Jenna, Cory, Jenny, Mary, and VON Home Care did for her. She loved every one of you very much. Final arrangements including cremation entrusted to Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors. There will be a graveside service at Smith-Sulis Cemetery, Harbourview, Smith's Cove, Digby County, Nova Scotia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the heart and stroke foundation.
Condolences
