Obituaries

I am very sorry to here of Owens passing. I worked and shared an office with Owen during most of his tenure at the Hospital. We spent many a summer time lunch hour walking the Public Gardens and chatting. We used to laugh and say on a warm sunny day in warmer weather, do you feel the warm sun today, this is what the weather is gong to be like on Florida in February some day when we are retired. This is something I still enjoy saying to this day and when I do say this, I always think of Owen.

My prayers are for your family as you mourn the loss of your dad, brother, grandfather, uncle. May you find peace and comfort in the hope we have in Jesus' words "if you believe, though you die, you shall live." (John 11:25) I do believe you shall see Owen again one day soon.

It was an honor to know Owen who was well known as "Papa" by us at Maplestone. He had a sense of humor up until the very end, always with a smirk or a wink. In his more lucid moments he spoke of his love for his family, especially his wife. You were loved and you will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family, including Otis who I am sure will miss visits with his grandpa. He was truly a lovely man.

Dear Bruce and Brian, I am so sorry for your loss. Dad and I went to visit uncle Owen in Mahone Bay, not long before Dad passed away. We had a lovely visit with him. Dad and uncle Owen shared stories of their childhood and beyond with me. I will cherish the memory of that visit fondly. Valerie Wentzell

To you our Dear Friend Bruce, It was sad news to receive your email about the passing of your father Owen. Thank you for being sure we received it. Jerry and I send our deep regards. What a beautiful long life your Father had. While it was so many years ago that we first met your parents in Lacombe, AB and one more time in Halifax, it was easy to understand the fine and loving home you were raised in. Over the years you and your furry pals brought much happiness to your Dad. You would know that we had a warm understanding thinking of you and Otis being together with him. We will meet again, soon! One time when we visited him, we took Victoria Covey, who was also a resident there, to see him; they were so pleased to see each other.
