Obituary For Paulette Bertrand

It is with great sadness that Paulette Bertrand passed away unexpectedly on September 5th 2022.

Paulette leaves to mourn her husband Donald Bowser, her parents Roger and Lucille Bertrand, siblings; Carole, Bennoit, Paul and Marc, children; Celine, Jesse, Ashley and Jeff, grandchildren; Bryce, Izabella, Austin, Alyssa, Skyler, Anthony, Emily, Lucas and Jacob whom she loved very dearly, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Paulette was born in Ottawa, Ontario on November 22nd 1960. Growing up she was always known for her beautiful smile, red hair and her contagious laugh.

She loved volunteering with her local Community Food Resource Network and the Westfield Community Hall. You would often find her playing radio bingo with her friends, going to her favorite spot at the Summerville beach with Don and her fur babies; Harley and Thor. She would always be chatting and face timing with all her grandkids. She loved baking and sometimes even baked on FaceTime with her grandkids so she could spend time with them no matter where they were across the country. She was very proud of her garden although Don secretly did all the work.

Her husband Don was always by her side. Always going on drives with the dogs, to the beach and recently a cross-country road trip to visit all of their loved ones. Don has always been a rock for Paulette and we will forever be thankful for the love he gave her.

Special thanks to her medical team, Cancer Care Nova Scotia, and to all her family and friends that helped and supported her over the last number of years.

Paulette was a proud cancer survivor, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society https://support.cancer.ca

There will be a private Service in Ottawa Sunday October 2nd and a second private service in Nova Scotia on Wednesday October 5th

Having Paulette in your life was like snuggling into a blanket on a cold day or lifting your face to the warm sun. She radiated compassion, joy and humour in all she did and she gave many a safe space to 'just be'. A special spirit who will be dearly missed.
