MACKINNON, Richard Bruce, Age 52, passed away suddenly on February 23, 2021. Bruce is survived by his brother Blaine (Gillian) and nephew Daniel. He was predeceased by his parents Dan and Sylvia MacKinnon.
Bruce took a wandering path through life and to try and capture in a few short paragraphs the people he met, the places he’s been and the lives he touched is impossible. From Lower Sackville to Fort MacMurray, Shefferville to Shediac, he’s left behind friends and family who will miss him tremendously. Stories of his quick wit and the lengths he’d go to get a laugh would fill volumes; words describing his compassion and kind nature equally so. Attempting to capture these would be a very long and diverse account and would only scratch the surface of who he was and what he meant to each of us. We encourage everyone to add comments, anecdotes and photographs to celebrate Bruce’s life. His ashes will be spread privately by the family at a later date.
Donations in Bruce’s memory can be made to an animal shelter or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada

Carolyn, Dawn & Scott, Carolyn, Dawn & Scott, I am so sorry for the loss of dear Roy . I met him in 1963 when I was training at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow with Carolyn. Roy was a special person and always so kind when I would visit in Halifax. A very special man that will be sadly missed. My sincere condolences to each of you, Sandie MacKenzie.

Carolyn, Scott, Dawn and families. I have such fond memories of your Dad and how happy he always was to spend time talking young people. Many times I would ask him for his advice, he was always kind with his words and always gave great advice. May your memories help you in the coming days, weeks, months and years. I appreciate all that advice he gave me over the years. May you find peace. With love to you all. Tracy Crowley Black

Sending our sincere condolences and remembering lots of laughter shared in your Oxford home. Always appreciated Roy's witty and candid remarks. Also inspired by his unabashed love and respect for Carolyn, Scott and Dawn. One comment I will never forget "There is nothing cuter than a blonde driving a big black truck." I'm sure there was a story...there always was. Peace to you all at this time of grief.

Was in same commerce class with Roy. Remember him as quiet, studious with a quick smile. Roy was a better student than me and I'd occasionally lean on him for advice. Lost track over the years but glad to read here that he achieved many personal goals. Sincere sympathies.
