Verna Edith Jackson, 89, a long time resident of Cork St., passed away suddenly in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home on December 7, 2020.

Verna was born on Fern Hill in Spry Harbour to the late Lilias (Cameron) and Lloyd Jackson. Verna lived her early years in Sheet Harbour before moving to Halifax and worked for Irving Oil, Dominion Stores and the Provincial Government, from where she retired. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Verna is survived by sister-in-law Valerie Jackson, nieces Gina Jackson, (Ted Allen), Kelly Wright (Joe Wright), grand nephews and grandnieces and friends Glenn and Sandy Hollett. She was predeceased by brothers Keith and Don.

Cremation has taken place and due to Covid restrictions, a small private graveside memorial will be held. Donations may be made to St. Vincent’s Nursing Home. Special thanks to the Staff on the 6th floor for all their love and support
