Obituary For Wayne Pitts

In memory of Wayne Franklin Pitts, son of Reg and Evelyn (Gritt) Pitts, died peacefully on January 6, 2019, at the age of 76 at Northwood Manor. Wayne was employed as a plumber and pipe fitter at the Halifax Shipyard for fifteen years as well as several plumbing businesses. Wayne was a proud lifetime member of UA Local 56 for over fifty years. Wayne regaled many stories related to his work much to the chagrin of family and friends. His sense of humour was thoroughly enjoyed by those who knew him. He loved animals, particularly dogs as well as gardening. Wayne’s knowledge of vegetable gardening was unsurpassed sharing his expertise with family and friends. In addition, Wayne was an avid bowler and an excellent crib player. Wayne is survived by his children, Charlene and Wayne Jr.. Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Mille Gunn (survived by husband Dave) and survived by sisters, Lorraine Bailey and Cheryl Driscoll as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the Palliative Unit in Northwood Manor for their care. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Cremation under the care of Donald K. Walker Funeral Directors Ltd., Dartmouth. At Wayne’s request, there will be no funeral service.
