Obituary For Deborah Anne Murphy

Deborah Anne (Peeling) Murphy, of Dartmouth, NS

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Anne Murphy, nee Peeling on 27 March 2023 at the Victoria General site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. After a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Deb passed away peacefully from complications at the age of 70. Born in Dartmouth on 13 May 1952, she was the daughter of Elaine (Crawford) and the late Donald Peeling.

Deb is survived by her husband of almost 33 years, Roy D. Murphy and her mother Elaine, both of Dartmouth. She is predeceased by her father Don.

Deb is also survived by her mother-in-law Euela Barron of Enfield; sisters-in-law Pearl Murphy of Bedford and Ruby Murphy (Tobe Wood) of Enfield; brother-in-law Bill Murphy (Kate) of Lewis Lake; and nieces Erin of Bedford, Emily of Lewis Lake and Allie of Halifax; uncle Paul Crawford, cousin Karen Crawford, and extended family across Canada.

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Ocean View Continuing Care where Deb was a resident for the past few years.

Cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will take place this summer. Roy and Elaine have suggested donations could be made to any charity of choice.

Deb started out as a co-worker, and she became a great friend. With a little match making work on my part, she also became an excellent sister-in-law. 🙂 Rest in peace Deb. You will be sadly missed. Bill
