Obituary For Ian Edwin McLeod

MCLEOD, Ian Edwin, 68, Fall River, NS passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2024. Born in 1956 in Sault Ste. Marie, he was the son of the late Earl McLeod and Adele Gagnon.

Ian spent his younger years in Ontario where he met and married his childhood sweetheart Claudette Chevrier-Cochagee. He worked alongside his best friend Ian McNerney as a truck driver in various provinces before coming to settle in Nova Scotia.

He met his partner Wendy Bevis (ne Cooke) and established a life in Fall River, enjoying semi-retirement. He spent time with friends fixing vehicles, playing guitar, and taking road trips on his Harley. He also held a special place in his heart for his cats. Ian delighted in learning about his Scottish ancestry. He took joy in collecting his McLeod clan's tartan, swords, helmets, and kilts

Ian was proud of his grandchildren and boasted about his trips back home to Sault Ste, Marie to visit them. He particularly loved hearing about their accomplishments in sports.

Ian is survived by sons Matthew (Sylvia), Mark (Melodie), grandchildren Marek, Maverick, Matis, sisters Deborah (Don), Allison, Lianne (Todd), and brothers, Jeffery (Laurie), Lorne, and Donald (France). He is predeceased by his former wife, Claudette.

Ian spent 17 memorable years in the lives of his partner Wendy’s children Mark (Amanda), Jodie (Chris), Kevin (Farrah), and grandchildren Angelina, Anthony, Cody, and Owen.

Cremation has taken place under direction of Donald K. Walker Funeral Home. As per Ian’s wish, no service will be held

“Never ride your Harley faster than your guardian angel can fly”.
