Obituary For James "Jim" Johnston Cook

Aged 93, of Halifax passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2023 at the QEII VG site. Born in Hamilton, Ontario he was the son of the late James and Jean (McDonald).

Dad retired from a 30 year career at CBC Halifax in 1988 as an announcer and the host of Classical music and Jazz programs on the radio.

He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Beverly Cook. He is survived by daughter Donna (Harold), son Jim (Michelle), son Ian (Chantale), and grandchildren Laura, Jamie, Liam, Emily and Brodie and two great-grandchildren Jack and Olivia.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service by request. A private family celebration will be held this summer where Mom and Dad’s ashes will be scattered at a place they both loved.

    Just learned of Jim's passing. He was our lead on our CBC curling team. John Nowlan was second Leon Cole third or vice and I was Skip George Young. Hope members of the family get this message.
