Obituary For Melissa L Hardy (Branch)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Melissa L Hardy (Branch). Melissa, age 47, passed away unexpectedly at home on the morning of Tuesday, January 16th, 2024. She was born in Halifax, to her loving parents Margaret Branch (Wincey) and Kenneth Branch.

Melissa was a very caring and loving person. She had a huge heart and spent most of her free time learning ASL. She was extremely creative, and excelled at anything she put her mind too. Melissa had a way of making everyone around her feel loved, and in return, everyone that knew her loved her back. She had a community of friends, family, and loved ones that always wanted to be in her presence. Melissa took pride in everything she did, but her biggest joys were her three daughters, and their own children. Of all the things Melissa was, being a Mother and Grandmother was her favourite. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

Melissa is survived by her three daughters, Kylie Branch (Justin), Chelsea Doucet (Ryan), and Makayla Branch; her Grandchildren, Kohen Provo, Niall Greenan, Benjamin Doucet, Kaysen Provo; Her parents Kenneth Branch and Margaret Branch (Wincey); Her brother Christopher Branch; Her Step Father Robert Macdonald; and her Uncle Wayne Branch.

Melissa is predeceased by her Fraternal grandparents Mary Eileen Branch(Christopher) Cyril Joseph Branch; and her Maternal grandparents Mary Evangeline Wincey(David) William Albert Wincey.

The funeral will be held at Saint Peter's Catholic Church, January 26th at 1:30 pm. Reception to follow at the church hall.

    My sincerest condolences to Melissa's girls and family. I baby sat Kylie and Chelsea when they were little toddlers on Chappel. I was a bratty teen and Melissa made a huge impact on my life during those rough teen years. She was fiercely protective of her girls (and me) and I never forgot her generosity and kindness even 25+ years later. She was a strong independent woman way before it was cool, and I know the greatest gift she left the world is her daughters who no doubt carry the same amazing qualities as their mom. Just know that many people who Melissa impacted over the years have you all in their prayers during this difficult time.
