Obituary For Noreen Evelyn Davie (nee Craft) (MacKinnon)
Noreen Davie, aged 84, died peacefully on June 21, 2023 at the Victoria General Hospital surrounded by loving family. Noreen was born in 1938 to the late Alfred and Evelyn Craft in St Stephens, NB.
Mum is survived by her children, Gregory (Sheree) MacKinnon, Bruce (Christine Black) MacKinnon, Stephen MacKinnon, Katherine (Ross) Levy, and Heather (Robert Robertson) MacKinnon, brother Jimmy (Judy) Craft.
She is survived by grandchildren, Corie (Stephanie) Mackinnon, Tawnya-Lee, (Jonathan, ) Convoy, Brittany, (Kyle), Marchand, Erica and Emily Levy and great grandchildren Samantha, Tara, Alexander, Noah, Dylan and Timothy.
Noreen was predeceased by her first husband James Joseph MacKinnon in 1966, second husband Kenneth Davie in 2014 and sister Phyllis in 2006.
It was during Noreen’s time as an elevator operator at the Roy Building that she met her first husband Jim. Jim and Noreen married 1957, moving to Middle Sackville in 1959.
Mum, also known as Nannie D, was a loving mother and homemaker and was widely known for her skills as a seamstress. Also, one of the best (Date Square) makers in Canada. Mum was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind beautiful memories.
To moms neighbour Ann and all of her friends that checked in during the last couple of years a very big Thank You.
To the staff at the VG hospital in the palliative care unit, you are an amazing team of caring people during very difficult times. A big thank you to the Maid Team for honouring moms wishes.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday, July 14 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Acadia Hall 636 Sackville Drive Lr. Sackville. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
The family requests that in lieu of sending flowers donations be made in support of breast cancer research or charity of your choice.
