Obituary For Sidney MacKenzie Robb
It is with great sadness that we must announce the loss of our special son/brother on July 6, 2023. Sidney was born on February 28, 1971, in Halifax, to the late Ernest Sidney Robb and Thelma Mary Ann (MacDonald) of Dartmouth. Besides his mother, he is survived by his sister Jane Ann Robb and older brother Jamie Sidney Robb, his Uncle Clyde Horner, his Aunt Patsy Robb and many cousins. Sidney was predeceased by his father Ernest (1986), his oldest brother Ernie (2014), his Aunt Margaret Horner (2014) and his lifelong friend Sue Cox (2014). Upon his move to Falmouth, Sidney enjoyed helping his sister with her horses. He happily greeted each horse in the morning with a kiss on the nose and a ”how are you?” or “what‘s your name? “. He had a special fondness for a big black unexpected foal ”Twofor” who also loved Sid dearly. He could be counted on to help in any way he could and took taking care of Jane’s horses very seriously.
He enjoyed watching Heartland and picking out everything they were doing wrong with the horses in his opinion. He loved all the dogs that passed through our family. Somewhat of a cat whisper, he tamed the numerous semi feral barn cats we had. Bently was one of his favourites and after his death he didn’t want any more.
Sid loved wolves and bald eagles. Our neighbor Pat Taylor never let a Christmas or his birthday go by without giving Sid a gift of either one or chocolates.
Like his Dad, Sid loved watching wrestling! He let us know when a paid for view match was coming up so we would buy it for him and made sure he had plenty of snacks to eat while watching the matches.
He was a very loving son and brother. His favorite greeting was “Do you love me?” - yes Sidney we loved you deeply and will miss you terribly. You were taken too soon.
We would like to thank the paramedics and firemen who came to Sid’s aid, and the ER doctor at the Hants Community Hospital. We appreciated the loving care shown to us by the staff at the hospital after his passing. Thank you also to Father Michael Walsh who came from Middleton in our time of need and provided a great sense of comfort.
Cremation has taken place. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Sidney can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Hants Community Hospital.
He will be laid to rest in the family plot at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, Main Street Westphal, alongside his father and brother. A graveside service will be held at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens on Main Street, Dartmouth on July 13th at 1:00 PM. There will be no visitation or reception.
