Obituary For Terence Roy Levy

Terence Roy Levy Terry was born in New Ross, NS in 1961 and he died unexpectedly at the QE II, NS on April 6, 2023.

Left behind to grieve are his loving wife, Sharon (Beck), son Phillip (Brittini), daughter Theresa (Jon), his darling granddaughter, Savannah Shay, and his loyal dog, Jennie. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Jollimore and brothers, Arnold, Clayton, and Garnett. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Atwood Levy, and his brothers, Jack, and Paul.

Having lost his sight as a young child, he attended the Halifax School for the Blind, but being blind never stopped Terry from living a full life. He was a wonderful husband and a great dad.

He spent many years volunteering at the Food Bank at Gateway Church in Middle Sackville. He had a heart for people and would help anyone in need. He touched many lives.

He was a talented woodworker, lathe turner, furniture restorer and a small engine repair technician. He could fix anything from a carburetor to a washing machine! Terry was fearless no matter what the challenge: riding a bicycle with his kids, shingling a roof, or cutting firewood using a processor. People would say, Terry doesn’t even know that he was blind! He loved to learn and was interested in many different subjects.

As per Terry's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at Gateway Church, Lower Sackville, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00 pm.

    Sharon, Phil, and Theresa, Donny and I are so sad for your loss. Terry could do anything. Whether it be white- water rafting with friends; driving a uni-cycle, dirt bike, and even a car; turning his lathe; working on gas-powered engines; or simply walking Jenny, Terry tried everything. The only thing that hindered him were the opinions of doubters. His successes were numerous, but none were as important as being a husband to Sharon and a father to Phil and Theresa. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace, Terry.

    Dear Sharon,= and family, I was so sadden to hear of Terry's death. So sudden as he would probably like it but maybe in 25 years later. His strength never wavered and always wanted to do things that you'd think only a sighted person could do. We were so close in the '80s and '90s and then saw each other less when we adopted 2 babies and moved to the city again. I wish that distance never happened in hind sight. He had the strongest beliefs, strengths and standards with no frills. A great conversationalist that always kept you thinking. May all the family go through this period of morning knowing Terry was a great kind man and would do anything for you, as you know and be proud to have been such a important person in your life.
